A blue Volvo, its door adorned with four bananas, firmly taped. Above, the moon reflects their shape, as if nature itself had chosen to participate in the composition.

The work plays with the question of value—how context, perception, and the absurdity of the market can transform objects into something far beyond their material significance. If a single taped banana once commanded an astronomical price, shouldn't this unassuming car, now with four, be worth four times as much?

Or perhaps value, like the moon above, is simply a reflection of what we choose to see.

First it was a car, four bananas, and a simple question of value. But once the idea took hold, it was hard to let go.

Here the experiment continues—a yellow banana, taped to a yellow van. A perfect match, but does the value change when object and context merge? Is it still a comment, or has it now become something else?

Maybe it's no longer about what we see, but about the inability to stop looking for the next level of absurdity. And yet... it feels like another image is needed.

A rusty truck, long past its glory days, now anchored to an uncertain future. The thick tow rope coils over the hood like a snake—a lifeline, created to save, to pull something back from the brink of decay. But where does it lead? And what, if anything, is left to save?

The image plays with the tension between resistance and surrender—between the promise of rescue and the quiet acceptance of staying put.

Is a lifeline still a lifeline if no one is pulling on it anymore?

Of course, it will never fly. It was never meant to. But sometimes all it takes is a shift in perspective for the mundane to transform into the impossible.

The scene hovers between faith and abandonment, between symbols and rust. If guardian angels exist, where do they stand when everything else fades?

This picture was noticed by the FB group "Rädda Brandbilen" who later recommended that I post the picture on the FB group "What's happening in Norrtälje". Lots of happy shouts and appreciation for the light. The picture is taken like many of my "Night Cabinets" with about 12 exposures where one is adjusted to the starry sky (if there is any) and the others I light different details. These pictures take many hours to achieve, both on location and in post-production.

Info from FB where the picture received an incredible number of comments:
In the 70s it was part of the Blidö fire department. My dad served as a priest and part-time firefighter there at the time. I remember that my older sisters and I got to go and fill it up once. It was big, I must have been 4 years old at most. We also got to buy an ice cream each, I remember that one exactly. It was an orange-flavored ice cream with the top dipped in chocolate. Imagine what memories an old car can bring back! Those were the times…

Fantastic starry skies now in Mars. This bulldozer is painted with light. The image consists of 12 images that are layered on top of each other. Each image consists of a lighting of specific details. This way I can bring out the surface, the dents and other patina.
